Il ministero del Lavoro ha disinnescato ufficiosamente la bomba la scorsa settimana, facendo filtrare il parere che la tassa sui licenziamenti introdotta dal primo gennaio dalla Riforma Fornero non colpisce i datori di lavoro domestico.

Some people are spreading rumours that the government of Italy has suspended the plan toregularise illegal immigrant workers. The people behind such rumours claim that other EU countries have forced Italy to reconsider its decision to allow employers of illegal immigrants to regularise their workers.

From now on employers of illegal immigrants in Italy will face heavy sanctions under the Legislative Decree No. 109 of 16th July 2012, which enters into force today.

The Decree adopts the Directive 2009/52/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 providing for minimum standards on sanctions and measures against employers of illegally staying third-country nationals.

Immigration Minister Damian Green has announced that the price of a standard UK passport will be reduced by £5 from this autumn.

From 3rd September 2012, the standard adult passport fee will be reduced by almost seven per cent from £77.50 to £72.50.
